CURTORIM: In a display of tactical discipline and clinical finishing, Fondegal YC emerged victorious, defeating Paldem SC 2-0 to claim the title of the 5th Cumborda Sports Club football tournament. The thrilling final was played on Sunday at the St. Alex Church ground in Curtorim.
The championship-winning team secured their victory with a goal in each half. Mario broke the deadlock, scoring the crucial first goal of the finals, while Shannon D’silva sealed the win with the tournament’s final goal, cementing their team’s place as the best in the competition.
Despite the loss in the final, Paldem SC players dominated the individual awards, showcasing their strong overall tournament performance. However, Fondegal YC claimed the most important prize of the day—the winner’s trophy.
The closing ceremony celebrated excellence across the field, with a special focus on outstanding individual performances.
