The Super Badminton League 2025, organized by Model Margao (an initiative by Yogiraj Digambar Kamat), started with a bang on World Badminton Day (5th July). The event, held at Fatorda Indoor Multipurpose Hall, saw huge excitement among badminton fans and local supporters.
The league, supported by Madgaon Shuttlers, Goa Badminton Association, and South Goa District Badminton Association, became a big hit, showing how sports can bring people together.
The opening ceremony was full of energy, with players raising their rackets to mark the start of Goa’s first-ever real-money auction badminton tournament. Former state champions Vinayak & Roy played an exciting exhibition match against Vaman & Narahar, setting the mood for fierce competition. Senior players were also honored for their contributions to badminton.
Over two action-packed days, 15 matches were played, with six teams battling it out. The top four teams—Radiant Sports Club, Badminators, Antruz Warriors, and Margao High Flyers—advanced to the playoffs.
In a surprising twist, Margao High Flyers, who entered the playoffs in 4th place, fought hard and reached the finals against Radiant Sports Club. With great skill and teamwork, they won the championship!
