Curtorim, August 11, 2025 — Parish Youth Nuvem began their Curtorim Villagers Cup 2025 campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Sporting Club of Davorlim in the tournament’s opening match, organised by Curtorim Gymkhana and held at St. Alex Church ground, Curtorim.
The match got off to a lively start as Albino Pereira opened the scoring for Parish Youth Nuvem in the 15th minute, giving his side an early 1-0 lead. Davorlim responded swiftly, equalising in the 20th minute through a penalty after Milton Colaco was brought down in the box. Colaco made no mistake from the spot, bringing the score to 1-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Nuvem had a golden opportunity to regain the lead, but Senroy Rodrigues missed a clear chance. However, Francisco Colaco emerged the hero, netting the winner in the 50th minute to seal the game for Nuvem. Despite late pressure from Davorlim, the Nuvem defense stood firm until the final whistle.
Fr. Manuel Dias, Parish Priest of St. Alex Church, Curtorim, was the Chief Guest for the inaugural match. Francisco Colaco of Parish Youth Nuvem was named Man of the Match and received the award from Savlo Naik, executive member of Curtorim Gymkhana.
Parish Youth Nuvem now advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
