Margao : Team Goa delivered a commanding performance at the prestigious ‘ASMITA Pencak Silat League,’ held in Daman on February 24th and 25th, 2025. Showcasing a blend of discipline and determination, the contingent of 27 athletes competed across 35 event categories, returning home with a trophy and seven individual medals.
Individual Achievements
The Goan athletes put up an impressive fight, amassing a total of one silver and six bronze medals. Leading the charge was Falaknaaz Sayad, who delivered an outstanding performance in the Junior (-63 kg) category to clinch the silver medal.

The medal tally was further bolstered by six bronze medal winners:
- Sachi Joshi (Sub Junior -60 kg)
- Madhu Chauhan (Senior -50 kg and Senior Solo)
- Parmesh Chauhan (Senior -55 kg)
- Chrissie Fernandes (Junior Solo and Junior Tunggal)
Team Triumph
Beyond individual accolades, the collective effort of the team led to a significant milestone. Team Goa secured third place overall in the Junior Category, bringing home a prestigious trophy for the state.
This success is attributed to the expert guidance of Anthony Cedly Braganza, Head Coach and General Secretary of the Pencak Silat Association of Goa (PSAG). The team was also led by coach Nilufer Khan and team manager Joaquim Antonio Da Silva.
