Margao : A coordination meeting regarding incidents of bullfights in South Goa district was chaired by Egna Cleetus, IAS, District Magistrate, South Goa, and co-chaired by Santosh Desai, Superintendent of Police (South), along with Srinet Kothwale, Additional Collector-I, South Goa District.
The meeting, held to address illegal bullfight activities, was attended by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Salcete, Police Inspectors, and Mamlatdars of Salcete taluka. Discussions focused on strengthening inter-departmental coordination to effectively curb such events.

Directions were issued to concerned Police Inspectors to initiate legal action against landowners where bullfight events are being organized. Mamlatdars were instructed to furnish necessary details and maintain an inventory of landowners to support enforcement measures.
Additionally, in the event of any emergency or law and order situation arising from such incidents, Mamlatdars were advised to immediately contact the emergency helpline number 112 to ensure prompt police response and safeguard public safety.
