Margao – The Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) successfully organized a one-day workshop on Romi Konkani writing and anchoring for the seminarians of the Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol, aiming to strengthen their linguistic and communication abilities.

The session on Romi Konkani writing was conducted by noted resource person Fausto V. Da Costa, an eminent writer and editor of ‘Gulab’ magazine. He guided the participants on effective writing techniques, sentence construction, and the importance of preserving and promoting the Konkani language in the Roman script. The anchoring workshop was led by Agnelo Borim, a renowned speaker, anchor, and writer, who trained the seminarians in the art of compering, voice modulation, stage confidence, and public communication skills.

The programme began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Fr. Donato Rodrigues, Rector of the Seminary, who appreciated DKA’s initiative to nurture language skills among young seminarians. Fr. Myron Jeson Barreto, President of Dalgado Konknni Akademi, explained the purpose of the workshop, emphasizing the need to equip future pastoral leaders with writing and public speaking skills so they can effectively communicate and contribute to society.

The workshop witnessed active participation from the seminarians, who engaged enthusiastically in writing exercises and mock anchoring sessions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving participants enriched and motivated to use Konkani more confidently in their future ministries.
