Panjim – An engaging and educational workshop on essay and story writing was conducted by the Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) for students of Our Lady of the Rosary High School, Dona Paula. The session was designed to nurture creativity, improve writing skills, and encourage young learners to express their thoughts effectively through words.

The workshop was led by noted writer, novelist, musician, and artist Willy Goes, who is also the former Principal of Goa College of Art, Altinho, Panaji. Through interactive sessions, he introduced students to the fundamentals of essay structure, character development, plot building, and expressive storytelling. Students actively participated in writing exercises and imaginative activities designed to spark creativity and enhance their narrative abilities.

Sr. Lima Rose graced the inaugural session. Fr. Myron Jeson Barreto, President of Dalgado Konknni Akademi, addressed the gathering, saying, “We have to work zealously to promote and protect our mother tongue Konkani, which gives us our identity.” He thanked the Rosary community for their love for Roman Konkani. Teacher Antoneta D’Souza served as the main coordinator of the workshop.

Certificates of participation were issued to all students, who expressed enthusiasm and appreciation for the opportunity to learn from an experienced writer. The initiative reflects the school’s commitment to promoting literary skills and holistic education, while reinforcing DKA’s mission to preserve and propagate Konkani language and literature among the younger generation.
