Margao – The Goa team delivered a spectacular performance at the Mixed Martial Arts Sports Federation of India (MMA-SFI) National Championship 2026, held in Lucknow from 17th to 19th April. The state’s young fighters brought home six medals, including three silvers and three bronzes.

The medal winners showcased exceptional talent across traditional and modern MMA categories. Harsha Parsekar (Under 16 Women’s -55 kg, Modern MMA) and Shubham Pal (Under 18 Men’s -50 kg, Modern MMA) secured silver medals, with Pal doubling up with another silver in Traditional MMA (-55 kg). Bishal Giri (Under 16 Men’s -65 kg, Traditional), Sneha Bhiungade (Under 18 Women’s -50 kg, Modern), and Santosh Kolkar (Under 16 Men’s -65 kg, Traditional) clinched bronze medals.

The team was expertly guided by coaches Abhishek Borker, Himanshu Kaushal, and Sandeep Vishwakarma, whose dedication and strategic training were pivotal to this success. This remarkable feat underscores the rapid growth of mixed martial arts in Goa and the relentless spirit of its emerging athletes.
